1. This is what I looked like today in the middle of my meeting with my boss, when she suddenly stopped answering my concerns about our current corporate web strategy and said “by the way, you can feel free to leave at any time if you need to go plan my surprise birthday party.”  My dumb response was, “It’s not TODAY, is it?”  It’s not, her actual birthday is Sunday.  But now the pre-planned party that is happening on Monday (which I didn’t know about at the time) is going to look like I threw something together to cover up for my inability to retain information like boss’s birthdays.  Of course, the best part is that I was walking down the hall with my boss a few minutes later, and an impromptu birthday celebration (complete with actual SINGING of the birthday song, cake and candles) proceeds to take place for ANOTHER employee just as we’re walking by. So it’s possible that I might be fired…
