1. Literary Musings

    1) Describe your weirdest dream involving a writer, book, or literary character.
Well one time I was 6 and I had a dream that I was walking across this bridge and all these monsters were trying to get me, and so I ran across the bridge and had to go through one of these two caves, and one had clowns and fun things and one was all dark, and I picked the wrong one, and went down into this really dark scary cave. I might have been carrying a book. Wait, what was the question?

    2) What is the most difficult book you’ve ever read?
The Scarlet Letter, on account of I was trying to kill myself every minute I was reading it.

    3) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
Neither. The French are always trying to have a revolution, and the Russians keep whining about how cold it is. I like the British - they’re just stuffy, and I get that.

    4) Roth or Updike?
    See answer to question 5.

    5) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
    I can’t answer question #4.

    6) What is your favorite short story?
The Lottery. (Kidding. No one liked that story. People want to vomit after reading that story. There is no excuse for having written that story. Seriously. Why would you do that?)
Real answer: The Lottery in The Simpsons. (“So, all in all, it was a pretty weird lottery.

    THE END???”)

[bAckwards muSings from a sliGhtly sideWays thinKer]

This blog is a series of short thoughts and essays named after my beta fish who sometimes has digestion problems that screw up his equilibrium in the water and cause him to float sideways at the top of his bowl, making me think that he's dead. But that's not what the blurbs are about, the blurbs are funny. Or something.
